A Prayer to The Almighty (a call to remember His faithfulness in times of distress)
Mighty God Come down oh Lord Who am I that I should ask your help? From on high - Come down Mighty God Like you did at Babel* And the wise were confounded And you saw that it was good To create diversity in many nations While the others mocked, and ran the race with us They did not choose you So you honored their choice, but their gods could not help them.
Come down Mighty Ancient One From The Throne above all thrones From the place where all things begin, and all things return. Where balance, righteousness, holiness, mercy and order Renew the minds of all in your presence. Who Oh Lord, I cry who? Who?
Who can hear my prayer to you? More than this - who has the power to answer me? Who has The Mighty Power? Who knows my heart like thee? For even I do not know it like you do And my strength is behind me. I know I am nothing Yet the Earth must have shook And hearts were melted When you died on the cross for me.
You my God, said in your word That you knew me in the womb * It is I who call upon thy name Though your Word is finished I take no thought for my words Other than the hope I have To know you And declare your faithfulness! I do not declare myself anything For as yet I would do your will My life remains unfinished Behold the Potter's clay*
By your work, that has been finished By you're only Son Who pleased you. And shed His blood for me
Through Him my Lord - I call upon you Come down greatest King And the Mountains shall be leveled* And a multitude of Angels are readied And the rocks shall cry out* Dry bones shall have life* The seas shall part* The lion's mouth shall be shut* The flood shall recede* The sundial will go back* There will be no stone unturned at Thy Word* The breath of the Still, soft voice* Can declare the Light from the darkness* And set apart the wheat from the chaff* And save the One that calls upon your name* And I shall live to see you face to face My sins will have been forgotten My feet shall walk amongst streets of Gold* I shall know the feel of your touch When you wipe away every tear* Mercy and Compassion is your name*
Many who have gone on before were known of you You brought them out of bondage I pray oh Lord, Jesus Help me. Who can help me like thee? Who can answer our prayer? When you look beside yourself - behold there are no other Gods'* There are none beside you that can save me. But there are many who know the depths of your faithfulness! Help me oh Lord - my God! Say the Word Send thy faithfulness For I am on my end And my enemy will not spare He knows not how to save Neither can he save me with his knowledge My friends cannot help I cannot help myself No substance, no show, no person fills your place Like you do
Only hear this prayer - this lasting hope to pray The enemy would not spare He cannot Love For he has never known you.
Save me from myself oh Great King of all That my heart may be changed in this thing And may we reason together concerning the sins That have been between us! My God - My Savior My heart is broken Help me oh Mighty God Ancient of Days The One that sticks closer than a friend My friends cannot help me Many have abandoned my love Who can help me like you?
Come down once more my God! For the Earth is thy footstool.* The Heavens shall declare an instant of your thoughts! And though they will not believe it - The heavens shall be rolled in an instant - like a scroll!* All Time and Space are less than thy fingerprints When rolled together like an architect's blueprint My days are like seconds to you And there is none that can deliver my soul from your hand Be gentle with my heart for it is dust My body is ashes My life is a breath From your nostrils Remember my God And your hand delivers me From the grasp of death!
I call upon thee Oh my Mighty King And in a second my heart will be lifted up I will know your deliverance Nothing will stand before thee oh Holy One of Israel For there is none that can deliver No true King reigns upon the Earth Without you. Nor is there love and mercies Like you have shown to me. Even the dust of the Earth Ageless as it seems Cannot contain my joy When thy Salvation comes.
Help Me Ancient of Days, Mighty God, Jesus! Word, Life, Breath, remember. Thy faithfulness, and how shall I forget - You shall accomplish what you have Set out to do, and your Word shall not return Empty. There is none like you oh Lord. Who then, in this hour of distress - Shall I call upon that can help me? Who will hear? Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed:* (Jer. 17:14 ,17) Save me, and I shall be saved;* For you are my praise.*
Amen.
