 High-Definition Video looks spectacular on the Web. We felt that the Sony HVR-V1U Camcorder was the right choice when it comes to shooting for our clients needs in HDV. In addition to typical 60i, the HVR-V1U offers 24p/30p progressive scan capture, enabling cinema and drama productions, and is a compact 3-CMOS unit that extends battery juice. Another preference for CMOS over CCD allows us to plan for stronger contrast / falloff using dramatic lighting rather than being low-light sensitive to begin with. The V1U also adopts a 2-3 pull-down HDV recording system for storage of the 24p scanned images.
